FAQ

  • WHAT IS VILLAGE?

Village is a community for Perth parents who want genuine connection. We organise simple, welcoming meetups where kids can play and parents can meet, chat, and start building their own village.

  • Do I need to already know someone to come along?

Not at all. 99% of people come solo — and everyone is there for the same reason: to meet new people.

  • HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Most Village meetups are free. Occasionally we’ll run ticketed events (like collaborations with other local businesses), but the heart of Village is connection, not profit.

  • DO I HAVE TO RSVP?

We encourage RSVPs so we have a sense of numbers, but it’s totally fine if plans change or if you decide to come along last minute without RSVP’ing.

  • What if I’m shy or have social anxiety?

It’s completely normal to feel nervous before meeting new people — especially as a parent when so much already feels overwhelming. At Village, you don’t need to perform or be “on”. The gatherings are unstructured and welcoming, which means you can show up as you are.

A few things that can help:

Arrive a little early — it’s often easier to connect when the group is smaller and just settling in.

Bring something simple to do — like grabbing a coffee or a little activity to do with your child. It gives you a natural way to ease into conversations when you feel ready.

Remember everyone is here for the same reason — to connect. You’re not interrupting or intruding by saying hello; you’re exactly where you belong.

Take it at your own pace. Even if you only end up chatting with one other parent, or simply spend time around others while your child plays, that’s completely okay. Often, the more meetups you come along to, the easier it feels to connect.

  • Can dads come?

Yes, of course! Village is for all parents and caregivers.

  • THE MEET UPS DON'T MATCH MY SCHEDULE

Every family’s routine looks different, which is why you’re welcome to request a meet at a time or place that suits you. Since we receive lots of requests, we’ll often combine similar ones into a single meetup so more parents can join in.
